Set among the vines in Hawke’s Bay – one of the Great Wine Capitals of the World – Craggy Range represents the pinnacle of winery dining in New Zealand. Its three-hatted restaurant, led by ExecutiveChef Casey McDonald, is widely recognised for showcasing the best of local produce and contemporary New Zealand cuisine.

Now, The Loft marks a new chapter in that story: an intimate dining experience that feels less like dining out and more like being let in. Designed by locally based, multi-award winning RTA Studio, the space combines sculptural forms, tactile materials and soft, layered lighting to create a sense of warmth and intimacy.

RTA Studio’s concept draws on the natural elements of earth, fire, water and air – expressed through contrasts of light and dark, sound and texture – to reflect the spirit of Craggy Range and its deep connection between land, nourishment and design.

At the centre of that atmosphere are a series of bespoke pendants crafted by Little and Fox, each handcrafted fromFloc wool acoustic panels and designed in collaboration with RTA Studio.Shaped, stitched and felted by hand, every pendant brings a natural softness to the room - both visually and acoustically - illuminating the bar and dining space with a gentle, inviting glow.

While a small detail within the broader design, we’re proud that Floc was chosen to perfectly capture the spirit of innovation behind The Loft and demonstrate the creative potential of natural materials in sustainable design.
