Why wouldn't you line your walls with something beautiful, natural, and high-performing, when you have the option now?
That question sits at the heart of this project, which saw Floc’s 100% New Zealand wool acoustic panels installed in the iconic Ivey West Memorial Hall at Lincoln University. Severely damaged during the Canterbury earthquakes, the building has now been restored as a modern, future-focused learning space - one that prioritises sustainability, wellbeing, and cultural identity.
Floc was selected by TEAM Architects for its fire compliance (Group 1-S), natural sound absorption, breathability, and design flexibility. The panels were custom printed with artwork by Kaitiaki Studios, allowing the team to embed storytelling directly into the interior surfaces while meeting technical requirements for commercial use.
Made from strong wool grown onNew Zealand farms, Floc panels offer a credible alternative to synthetics supporting both healthy indoor environments and a thriving rural sector.
From farm to fitout, thisproject proves that wool has a powerful place in the future of commercial design.
