Designed for Specification. Appreciated by Installers.

For installers, Floc offers something increasingly uncommon within the interiors sector - a natural material that performs to commercial standards, while still feeling tactile, workable and considered on site.

Floc was developed to bring natural NewZealand wool into commercial interiors without compromising on performance, aesthetics or practicality on site.

While much of the conversation around acoustic products tends to focus on sustainability and specification, feedback from installers is proving just as important.

As Floc continues expanding across bothNew Zealand and Australia, installers are increasingly looking for products that not only achieve the desired architectural finish, but are straight forward to work with under real site conditions.

Built for Real Site Conditions

Todd Finlayson from Hawke’s Bay-basedElite Ceilings and Partitions recently installed Floc at the TW Group building in Hawke’s Bay and says the experience was seamless from the outset.

“[Installing Floc was] very easy. Cutting the material was just as quick and easy as cutting alternative plastic acoustic products.”

Unlike more rigid synthetic products,Todd says the wool surface offered a level of flexibility that helped achieve a cleaner finish on site.

“The biggest difference and positive compared to synthetic products was the stretch. This slight tolerance allowed me to easily get a perfect finish on all edges. This certainly helped with the speed of installing the product.”

Designed for commercial interiors, education spaces, hospitality environments and public buildings, Floc can be cut and installed using standard trade tools and methods, while still delivering a refined, premium finish.

A Natural Material with CommercialPerformance

Todd says the final result also resonated strongly with the client.

“It looked awesome and the clients seemed very happy. There is certainly a growing movement away from installing plastic products so I think Floc has huge potential.”

That shift is something Floc BusinessDevelopment Manager Tom O’Sullivan says the company is seeing more broadly across the interiors industry.

“There’s growing demand for materials that not only perform acoustically, but also align with the wider values of a project,” he says.

“Installers are a huge part of that conversation. They’re the people working with the product day in and day out, so practical feedback around handling, finishing and installation matters enormously to us.”

Looking Ahead

Manufactured using 100% New Zealand strong wool, Floc has been specified across a growing range of commercial projects where both acoustic performance and material selection are playing a larger role in the design outcome.

For installers, it also offers something increasingly uncommon within the interiors sector - a natural material that performs to commercial standards, while still feeling tactile, workable and considered on site.

Installation Support

Floc Roll is supported by a detailed installation guide covering wall preparation, adhesive application, trimming, joins and finishing techniques.

The system is designed to work with standard trade tools and installation methods, with guidance available for achieving the best possible finish across commercial interiors.
